Black and White Zine
Printed on a Xerox Machine
48 Pages

A zine that was made in collaboration with Carolina Cunha. It was made as a conceptual link exploring the ideas of overworking within capitalist culture. A lot of the research was based on the phenomenon of salarymen and that within Japanese culture it can be seen as a positive characteristic to overwork to the point of complete exhaustion. The zine consists of found photos taken from mobile phones by other commuters.

These images were then treated so they looked as if they were being absorbed into the paper, reflecting how the people were being absorbed into their environments and ceasing to be human at all. what is left is a dystopian view of what looks to be cadavers of people falling victim to preconceptions of work under a capitalist system.
